Simple but wonderful graphics

Atomic Blastman looks simple, but there is something presentable about it. Countless eye candy elements are added: high-resolution textures, reactive particle effects, bomb shockwaves, bomb explosion particle effects, high-quality reflections, a clean and airy user interface, and much more. Using Unreal Engine 4, Atomic Blastman takes indie game graphics to the next level

Faithful to the original

Being a remake, Atomic Blastman tries to stay faithful to its predecessor, Atomic Bomberman (1997). The core is bomberman, but the body is all blastman. Without breaking the ethics of the remaking process, our studio tries to offer an improved but nostalgic experience for all fans of the Bomberman franchise

Solid foundation for AI research

Atomic Blastman was developed as the Bachelor’s thesis of Indiependent Games Studio’s owner, Teodor Roscan, in July 2024. It’s built as a research playground for AI, where different training methods can be tested and compared. The AI Blastmen use a neural network to choose the best move, making them smart and hard to predict. The game also includes a built-in AI training platform with a TensorBoard web UI to monitor learning in real time. Students can use it to generate datasets and experiment with their own AI models.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4

This project was made possible by Unreal's advanced graphics and programming tools. The engine's capabilities ensure that Atomic Blastman is easily extensible and maintainable
